Brines

Few examples of Brine lakes are the Dead Sea and the Great Salt Lake in Utah. They are developed as a result of high evaporation rates in a desert climate and lack of an outlet to the ocean. The salt in these water bodies comes from the minerals washed out of the surrounding watershed or then from a geologically old, previous connection to the ocean.
Man-made brine ponds are a source of commercial table salt. They are located along an ocean shore. The salts are obtained by evaporating and purifying seawater. Commercial table salt is also obtained by way of a salt mine.
In England, Droitwich Spa, a town, is famous for the abundance of saturated brine.
